Saadi Kerman Persian Wool Carpet. This is an authentic hand-knotted Persian Kerman (or Kirman) rug. Originating from the ancient city of Kerman in southeastern Iran, these rugs are renowned for their high level of craftsmanship and elegant, curvilinear designs. Central Medallion: The rug features a large, ornate sunburst or pendant-shaped central medallion on a deep "Kerman red" or burgundy field. This medallion is finely detailed with ivory, navy, and cream floral motifs. Open Field Layout: This specific style is often referred to as an "open field" medallion design, where the large red center is relatively clear of dense patterning, allowing the central motif to stand out. Floral Borders: The main border is wide and heavily decorated with intricate floral vines, scrolling palmettes, and arabesques in contrasting shades of cream, blue, and green.
